PRESENTING PROFESSOR GREYBEARD
Handsome, Grey-breaded Boris Pillin is now on You Tube as Music Master Professor Greybeard. Your musical host is a specialist in classical music. He has a BA cum laude from UCLA and an MA in Musicology (music history) from USC.
In Winter, 2009, Boris W. Pillin, as Professor Greybeard, will explore and explain famous pieces of Classical Music on You Tube in a series of talks for American youngsters and their families.
The 20-minute programs will be:
Program I: Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. Pianist: Mr. Pillin
Program II: Beethoven’s Choral Symphony No. 9 with mezzo-soprano Tracey
Alexander Pillin.
Program III: Edward Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance (The Graduation March)
Program IV: Peter I. Tchaikovsky’s None But The Lonely Heart (classic song) with
Tracey Alexander, vocalist.
Provram V: Darius Milhaud’s Le Boeuf sur le Toit (The Bull on the Roof, a jazzy piece
Program 6: Rossini’s William Tell Overture (The Lone Ranger Theme) with Tracey Alexander explaining 19th Century Grand Opera.
Program 7: Schubert’s Ave Maria done by Tracey Alexander, and the Bach Gounod Ave Maria (Singer to be arranged).
